The Online Experience
Will the online coursework have interactivity?
Yes, coursework is delivered online through the integration of video documenting, interactive lectures using streaming video, animation, various other new media, and Web 2.0 technologies. The didactic components are not simply PowerPoint presentation or recorded lectures; they are fully interactive. Professor to student ratio is 10:1!
What are the technology requirements?
Personal technology requirements are:
- Comfortable using the Internet
- Experience using social networking site is helpful (i.e. Facebook)
- Experience with word processing
- Experience with streaming video
- Hardware and Software requirements:
- Windows XP or Vista; Mac OSX
- Gig of Ram; 100MB of hard drive space
- High speed Internet (DSL or Cable) is strongly recommended.
Will my transcript or degree indicate that I took an online program?
No. Nursing@Georgetown requires the same admissions and graduation requirements as the on-campus program so there is no difference between the academic degrees earned.
