Preparing the Next Generation of Nursing Leaders
Nursing@Georgetown’s programs are designed to provide the education, experience, and credentials you need to advance your nursing career. Our demanding curriculum, designed and delivered by our nationally respected faculty, takes a multidimensional approach to preparing nurses for leadership roles in the health care industry.
The following program specializations are available:
Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
(AG-ACNP) — MS in Nursing
You will be eligible to obtain the following certifications upon completion of the AG-ACNP program:
- Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner – Board Certified (ACNP-BC)
Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) —
MS in Nursing
Graduates of the FNP program will be eligible to obtain the following certifications:
- Family Nurse Practitioner – Board Certified (FNP-BC)
- Nurse Practitioner – Certified (NP-C)
Nurse-Midwifery/Women’s Health Nurse
Practitioner (NM/WHNP) — MS in Nursing
You will be eligible to obtain the following certifications upon completion of the NM/WHNP program:
- Certified Nurse – Midwife (CNM)
- Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner – Board Certified (WHNP-BC)
Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) —
MS in Nursing
Graduates of the WHNP program are able to pursue board certification through:
- The National Certification Corporation (NCC)
Doctor of Nursing Practice
(DNP)
Nursing@Georgetown offers two entry points for the DNP program. The post-master’s Executive Doctor of Nursing Practice in Health Systems Leadership and Policy program, designed for nurses who hold a relevant master’s or doctoral degree (i.e. MSN, MHA, MBA, JD) and currently working in an advanced nursing role (advanced clinical practice, leadership, education, etc.), focuses on equipping you with leadership, policy, and systems expertise. The BSN to DNP program is designed for RNs with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. You will complete a leadership-focused curriculum while also preparing to pursue APRN certification in your specialization of choice.
Post-Graduate Certificate (PGC) Program
The Post-Graduate Certificate is designed for post-master’s and post-doctoral nursing professionals. Applicants must hold a Master of Science degree in Nursing or a doctoral degree (DNAP, DNP, or PhD) from a CCNE- or ACEN-accredited institution.
Depending on the specialty area you pursue, you will be eligible to sit for board certification examinations in one of the following specializations:
- Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-ACNP)
- Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
- Nurse-Midwifery (NM)
- Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP)
